Description
White Chocolate Mousse is a luxurious and velvety dessert made with white chocolate, whipped cream, and eggs. With its creamy texture and sweet vanilla notes, it’s a decadent treat perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces (225 grams) white chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, chilled
- 3 large eggs, yolks and whites separated
- 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Place the chopped white chocolate into a heatproof bowl over simmering water and melt gently, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy. Gradually whisk in the cooled chocolate. Add vanilla extract and salt.
- Whip the chilled heavy cream until soft peaks form. Do not over-whip.
- Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently using a spatula, starting with a small amount to lighten the mix.
- Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then fold them gently into the mousse mixture.
- Spoon or pipe the mousse into serving dishes, cover, and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours or overnight until set.
Notes
- Use high-quality white chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
- Make sure all ingredients are at proper temperatures—chilled cream and cooled chocolate.
- To make it dairy-free, use plant-based chocolate and coconut cream.
- To make it sugar-free, use erythritol or stevia instead of granulated sugar.
