Description
A delightful dish that combines rich flavors and a velvety texture, featuring tender steak paired with a creamy garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick, approximately 1 lb each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream (240 ml)
- 4 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped (or more for garnish)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak: Let the ribeye steaks rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes and season with salt and black pepper.
- Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and add 2 tablespoons of butter, cooking for another 4-5 minutes.
- Rest the Steak: Remove the steaks from the skillet, cover loosely with aluminum foil, and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter, sauté minced garlic, add heavy cream, and simmer until thickened. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Combine Steak and Sauce: Return the steaks to the skillet, coating them in the sauce and simmering for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Slice the steaks against the grain, drizzle with sauce, and garnish with fresh thyme.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet over low heat; avoid microwaving to prevent toughness.
- For a lighter option, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut cream for heavy cream.
