  • Author: Chef Bella

  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A delightful dish that combines pasta and garlic bread, served in a crispy, buttery garlic bread bowl.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large round loaf of crusty bread (such as sourdough or Italian bread)
  • 300 grams (10 oz) fresh spaghetti
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the top off the round loaf of bread and hollow out the inside, leaving about 1 inch of bread on the sides and bottom.
  2. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fresh spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
  4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic butter and toss to coat. If dry, add reserved pasta cooking water to achieve desired consistency.
  5. Stir in the chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Spoon the garlic spaghetti mixture into the hollowed-out bread bowl, packing it in gently.
  7. Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until the bread is crispy and the top of the spaghetti is slightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, garnish with additional parsley and Parmesan cheese, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, use vegan butter and nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan.
  • If gluten-free, substitute regular spaghetti with gluten-free pasta.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, keeping the garlic bread separate.
