Maple Glazed Pumpkin Donut Holes are a delightful treat that combines the warm flavors of pumpkin and maple syrup, perfect for cozy gatherings and holiday parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, eggs, milk, and 1/4 cup of maple syrup. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Gradually add the dry mixture to the pumpkin mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes.
  5. In a deep pot or fryer, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Once the dough is chilled, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to form small balls of dough, about 1 inch in diameter.
  7. Carefully drop a few donut holes into the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup until smooth.
  9. While the donut holes are still warm, dip the tops into the maple glaze.
  10. Once the glaze has set, serve the maple glazed pumpkin donut holes warm or at room temperature.
