Description

These Kool-Aid Fizzy Marshmallows are nostalgic, fruity, and fun! Infused with your favorite Kool-Aid flavors, they offer a fluffy texture with a fizzy twist that excites the taste buds, making them perfect for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 packet (0.13 oz) of Kool-Aid powder (any flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water. Let it bloom for 5–10 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and 1/4 cup water. Stir and cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil until it reaches 240°F (soft ball stage).
  3. Remove from heat and add the bloomed gelatin, Kool-Aid powder, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix briefly.
  4. Using a hand or stand mixer, whip the mixture on high speed for 10–15 minutes until fluffy and tripled in volume.
  5. Pour into a greased 9×9 inch pan, spread evenly, and dust the top with powdered sugar. Cover with foil and let set at room temperature for 4–6 hours or overnight.
  6. Dust the top with powdered sugar. Cut into squares using a powdered sugar-coated knife or scissors. Toss pieces in powdered sugar to prevent sticking.

Notes

  • Ensure gelatin blooms properly for best texture.
  • Use a candy thermometer to avoid overcooking the syrup.
  • Make in a dry environment to avoid stickiness.
  • Experiment with different Kool-Aid flavors or add extracts like mint or almond.
  • Use agar-agar for a vegan version, and sugar substitutes for a low-sugar option.
