Description
Iced Churro Croissant Bites are a delightful fusion of flaky croissant pastry and the sweet, cinnamon-spiced flavor of churros. These bite-sized treats are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making them a perfect indulgence for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (about 14 oz) croissant dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate (for drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- If using store-bought croissant dough, unroll it on a clean surface and cut the dough into small triangles, about 3 inches wide at the base.
- Starting from the wide end of each triangle, roll the dough tightly towards the pointed end to form a mini croissant shape. Place each rolled croissant bite on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Using a pastry brush, generously brush the melted butter over each croissant bite.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissant bites are golden brown and flaky.
- Once baked, remove the croissant bites from the oven and immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated. Allow them to cool slightly on a wire rack.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if necessary to achieve a drizzle-able texture.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Transfer the melted chocolate to a piping bag or a small zip-top bag with a corner snipped off for easy drizzling.
- Once the croissant bites have cooled, drizzle the icing over the top, followed by a drizzle of melted chocolate for added elegance.
- Arrange the iced churro croissant bites on a serving platter and enjoy them warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Store the iced churro croissant bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- For longer storage, refrigerate them to maintain freshness.
- To reheat, place the bites in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes until warmed through.
