Description
A delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors with crispy Brussels sprouts and a sticky, spicy honey glaze.
Ingredients
- Brussels sprouts – 500 grams (about 1 pound), trimmed and halved
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Honey – 3 tablespoons
- Red pepper flakes – 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water, trim the ends, and cut each sprout in half.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, honey, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Check for doneness; they should be tender inside and caramelized outside. For extra crispiness, roast for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, and serve warm.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to maintain crispiness.
- Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to prevent steaming.
- Experiment with adding nuts or cheese for extra flavor.
