Description

Herbed Focaccia Bread with Olive Oil is a delightful treat that brings a burst of flavor to your table. This bread is soft, fluffy, and infused with aromatic herbs, making it perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • ¼ cup olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down gently.
  6. Transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Stretch and shape it into a rectangle, about 1 inch thick.
  7. Use your fingers to create dimples all over the surface.
  8. Drizzle olive oil over the dough and sprinkle with chopped herbs and coarse sea salt.
  9. Let it rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Store leftover focaccia in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For longer storage, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and freeze.
