Description

A delicious dish featuring juicy steak bites in garlic butter paired with creamy chipotle white cheddar pasta shells.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (100 g) white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1–2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced (adjust to taste)
  • 8 oz (225 g) pasta shells
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil a pot of salted water and cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak bites with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the shredded white cheddar cheese and minced chipotle peppers until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet with the creamy sauce, stirring gently to coat. Add the seared steak bites back into the skillet and mix until well combined and heated through. Plate and garnish with chopped fresh chives. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a leaner option, use chicken or turkey instead of steak.
  • Use gluten-free pasta shells for a gluten-free version.
  • Swap white cheddar for a dairy-free cheese alternative if needed.
  • For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of chipotle peppers.
