Description
A delightful Fall Pumpkin French Toast recipe that combines warm spices and creamy pumpkin flavor, perfect for cozy gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 thick slices of brioche bread
- 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Maple syrup for serving
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Butter for cooking
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
- Take a slice of brioche bread and dip it into the pumpkin mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off before placing it in the skillet.
- Place the coated brioche slice in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, or until it is golden brown. Flip the slice and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side until it is cooked through and golden.
- Continue the process with the remaining slices of brioche, adding more butter to the skillet as needed to prevent sticking.
- Once all the French toast slices are cooked, stack them on a plate. Dust generously with powdered sugar and drizzle with warm maple syrup. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- To reheat, pop the slices in a toaster or microwave.
- For longer storage, freeze the cooked French toast wrapped in plastic wrap.
