Description

Brownie Truffles are the perfect bite-sized indulgence, combining the rich, fudgy texture of brownies with the lusciousness of chocolate truffles. Each bite offers a burst of chocolate flavor, making them a favorite treat for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 batch of homemade or store-bought brownies (about 9x9 inches or equivalent)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or coconut cream (for a dairy-free option)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • Additional toppings like crushed nuts, sprinkles, crushed cookies, or melted chocolate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bake your brownies or use a ready-made batch. Let them cool completely. Crumble them into fine crumbs in a large bowl, removing any large chunks.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream together. Stir until smooth and glossy. Add vanilla extract. Let it cool slightly until thickened but still soft.
  3. Pour ganache into the crumbled brownies. Mix using your hands or a spatula until the mixture is sticky and holds together. Add more ganache if too dry.
  4. Scoop out a tablespoon of the mixture and roll into balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes to set.
  5. Roll chilled truffles in cocoa powder, sprinkles, crushed cookies, or dip in melted chocolate. Allow any coatings to set before serving.

Notes

  • Chill ganache slightly before mixing to avoid a runny mixture.
  • Lightly oil your hands when rolling to prevent sticking.
  • For quick setting, place the truffles in the freezer instead of the fridge.
  • Use flavor variations like peppermint extract, orange zest, or instant coffee for unique twists.
