Description
A delightful recipe for Black Forest Brownies that combines rich chocolate with tart cherries for a perfect balance of flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 150 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g cocoa powder
- 200 g pitted cherries (fresh or canned)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over simmering water or in the microwave.
- Once cooled slightly, stir in the sugar and then add the eggs one at a time, mixing until creamy.
- Sift together the flour and cocoa powder in a separate bowl, then fold into the chocolate mixture along with the pitted cherries.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the batter; this can make the brownies tough.
- Ensure your oven is properly preheated for even baking.
- Check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time.
